“Screw That Whole Constitution Thingy”

Cohen-cvr

This may come as a shock to you, but Rolling Stone has once again jumped the rails on the crazy train.  In addition to attempting to make an idol out of the surviving Boston Marathon bomber, they are now, via the words of David S. Cohen, suggesting that now is the time to delete the second amendment.

“I teach the Constitution for a living, but I very clearly don’t understand a damn thing in it…”

There David, I fixed that sentence for you.

What an ignorant freaking moron! If he were indeed an intelligent person who revered the constitution, he would understand that it was set up the way it is, that the bill of rights was put in place to protect our rights as a country, to protect them against some pseudo intellectual idiot who disagrees with one of them and wants to throw it out on a whim. In this case, that pseudo intellectual idiot is the author himself, David S. Cohen.

The right to self-defense, the right to defend my family, the right to defend my country against threats both foreign and domestic, including from my own government, is not some right I am willing to throw away because some highly educated hoplophobic moron is scared by an inanimate object.

In his piece, David pulls out all the same old tripe and says stuff like “guns like the AR15 did not exist” and then spews this beauty:

“Founders didn’t have to weigh the risks of one man killing 49 and injuring 53 all by himself.”

Uh, yes they did David.  At the time of the Bill of Rights, canons were legal for private ownership, as were mortars, and explosives.  In fact, there was absolutely no limitation on the type of arms that private citizens could own, which is a far cry from what the 2nd amendment has been whittled down to today.  Additionally, considering the abysmal state of emergency medicine back in those days, what today is a minor wound could very well have been life threatening back then.  But you know, screw that history stuff and facts and what not…

In fact, not long ago, Steven Crowder put out a short video that addresses nearly every contention that Cohen puts forth.  Let’s just call it a “2nd Amendment for Dummies” video.

David, buddy, I hate to burst your tiny, gun free zone, safe space bubble (actually, I enjoy it), but the founding fathers were a lot smarter than you.
