Every tool in your pocket has a job, and for every job you have a tool.
One of the most commonly overlooked jobs is saving lives though. Often, people in the every day carry world are fully prepared to defend themselves. While they prepare to defend themselves and others though, they should also be preparing to save others and themselves too. So why don’t they?
One of the primary arguments against carrying life-saving equipment is bulk. Another is expensive training. In my opinion, these are both excuses. Medical training is very easy to come by in today’s world. It’s also not incredibly expensive. There are also many options available in the EDC world for individuals to get themselves easy to carry and conceal medical equipment.
In today’s world, there is no longer an excuse not to carry some level of medical equipment on you. At the bare minimum, you should have a tourniquet of some kind. I personally carry a small medical kit with me everywhere I go. Inside of my truck, I have another two full-blown medical kits.

You should always question what you are getting with your money, and be wary of making large purchases on webpages like Amazon and eBay where un-reputable sellers tend to thrive. Let’s talk about the real meat here. If this is an EDC item, it has to be easy to carry and conceal. It also has to be great at its job. Does it meet those expectations? I think so.
The pouch itself is very small. For reference, if you have an iPhone X, the dimensions for that phone are about the same as the pouch. The pouch itself is somewhere between two and three inches thick, depending if you have added any extra medical gear to it yourself. Also, the pouch gets huge bonus points for easily attaching to any belt with the molle back-straps.
In my opinion, the Rapid Medical EDC kit is in the golden zone for size. It’s not too big that you can’t conceal it, and it’s not too small that you can’t carry or modify its contents easily. If you’re an avid wearer of cargo pants, you’ll also be happy to know that this item fits perfectly in your cargo pocket.
As far as the contents of the pouch goes, you’re getting a lot of value. One tourniquet is included, as well as a chest seal, compressed gauze, and a pair of nitrite gloves. On top of this, you can easily fit a quick-clot or nu-stat gauze package into the kit without compromising the zippers. I’d wager that you could also change out or easily double up your tourniquet count as well, without causing any extra stress to the pouch.

If you’re an EDC aficionado, the pouch alone is worth the $39.95 price of entry. All by itself, you’re getting a decently sized pouch with organizational slots that is completely waterproof and modular. Add onto that the fact that you’re getting a tourniquet, compressed gauze, chest seal, and a pair of nitrite gloves, and you’ve got yourself a no-brainer. This one piece of kit completely eliminates the excuse of medical gear being too bulky to carry. You are the individual who has to go out and eliminate the lack of training however.
