[Review] Glock 43 | The Answer to Your EDC Problems?

Let’s talk about the Glock 43 for a minute. If you’re anything like me, you carry a handgun with you every single day. You probably bought a Glock 19, and an appendix holster and called it a day. Fast forward yourself to summer though, and now you’re finding all sorts of problems with your EDC solution.

It’s too big, too bulky, and frankly impossible to carry in anything without a belt. Enter the Glock 43. This smaller, single stacked handgun, is Glock’s solution for someone who wants a more lightweight carry weapon.

Here’s our comprehensive review.

Do You Really Need Another Glock?

Glock 43 Question

Let’s be real for a minute. You’re probably looking at your stack of Glocks already, and asking yourself if you really need another one. The answer to that question is yes, you absolutely do and here’s why.

If you’ve ever found yourself staring at your full-size Glock 17 and asking if you want to put it on, you need a Glock 43. If you’ve ever had your Glock 19 digging into your hip when you carry it, and considered tossing it for a smaller EDC gun, then you need a Glock 43. On the fence about even purchasing a Glock, then you need a Glock 43 to kick off your collection right.

Does it have a smaller magazine capacity than it’s full size brothers? Yes. Yes it does, and that is the only down side to this firearm that we found. That said, carrying a gun every day regardless of your situation is important enough to warrant having the G43 in your inventory. Some days your clothing will not permit a full-size handgun, that’s simply a fact of life. For those days, the G43 exists, and makes a great option.

So yes. Yes you do need another Glock. You need this one.

Meet the Glock 43.

If you’re here, chances are your looking at picking up a Glock 43 to supplement or start your EDC. If you’re familiar with the Glock line-up, then you’re familiar with the the G43 already. This little handgun meets all the same requirements and testing of it’s bigger brothers. Even while meeting all of those same Glock standards, this little gun is ultra-concealable, and has a beaver-tail at the back of the frame to optimize functionality and support.

    Glock 43 Sights

Let’s get out of the gate right away by saying this is a Glock handgun. Once you replace the atrocious stock iron sights this thing comes with, it simply works. The Glock 43 eats whatever you feed it, and doesn’t really care about anything that you do to it. We took it to the range with four shooters. One big guy, one little guy, and two small women. The little guy and the smaller of the two women had very little shooting experience.

None of our shooters had any overt complaints about the weapon system, and even with the firearm being brand new we felt zero issues with the firearm’s performance. Even our big guy liked the feel of the handgun, as long as we kept letting him shoot with the extended magazine so his hands would actually be able to get a stable grip on the Glock. Admittedly, our only real complaint from the day was that our bigger shooter did not like shooting the handgun with the magazine that did not have the pinky-finger extension.

Our female shooters are in love with this handgun. So much so, that one of them made a purchase that same day and is now using it as her every day carry. If you’re looking for a pocket pistol that will simply work, you’re in the right place.

Every Day Carry Comfort and Ease of Concealment.

Comfort and ease of concealment are probably two of the biggest reasons why bulky handguns don’t get carried. People who are truly dedicated will EDC their favorite handgun regardless of the situation, but some shooters develop bad habits. If the first thing you do when you get home is drop off your car keys, and then unload your bulky EDC because it’s uncomfortable, then the Glock 43 is here for you.

With a proper pocket holster, the Glock 43 is nearly unmatched in the categories of comfort and ease of concealment. The compact frame will fit into most pockets easily, and also provides female shooters with a great option for every day carry in even the smallest of purse bags. While you do sacrifice a little in your ammunition capacity, being that the Glock 43 is a single stacked 9mm magazine, this is definitely a better option than leaving your Glock 19 on the nightstand when you go to the gas station in your pajamas.

    Glock 43 Conclusion

All in all, the Glock 43 is a proven and reliable every day carry option. The small frame and stature of the weapon truly sets you up for success, and eliminates any excuses you may have for not wanting to carry a firearm. If you choose to carry the G43, chances are you’ll forget that it’s even in your pocket for 90% of your average day.

We highly recommend this pistol to new and experienced shooters alike. Regardless if you are looking to get into EDC for the first time, or if you’re looking to change up your current EDC setup to something a bit more comfortable. This handgun is for you.

That’s just our opinion though. There are a ton of great micro-compact pistols out there on the market. Let us know down in the comments what your favorite is, and maybe we’ll get the opportunity to review it. If you made it this far, you’re a rock star and we appreciate your readership!
