Full30 3.0 Into Pre-Release | Development Blog September 2020

Welcome back. It’s time for another update from the Full30 development team. If you’ve been following our previous dev blogs, then you’re already in the loop in what’s been going on in the back-end. Due to the technological limitations of our existing legacy site, we decided around five months ago to take a step back and re-evaluate our technology. Lateral scalability is something that’s extremely important in the industry that we exist in, and it is something that we were lacking with our legacy platform. As a result, we made the collective decision to fully refurbish the entire platform from the ground up.

This refurbishment to the existing legacy version of the Full30 platform has been conducted to make it easier for our development team to create new features. Also, our primary objective with this refurbishment was to build a faster platform for both the users and creators. After five months of difficult work, we finally have some real progress that we can present to you.

In this development blog, we’re going to fully breakdown Full30 3.0, and what it means to you. We’re also going to tell you, the individual user and creator, how you can help guide us down the path of creating the ultimate content distribution network for firearms creators.

Full30 3.0 Goes into Pre-Release.

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally ready to show you what we’ve done. For the past five months our team has been all hands on deck preparing for this single moment. Full30 3.0 is a faster, and easier to use platform than the existing legacy version of the webpage. We have completely swapped out our old system frameworks, and replaced them with the most modern technology available. On top of this, our new development staff has been working around the clock to build a platform that is not only easier to use, but more engaging and an overall better experience.

The original platform itself has been deconstructed completely, and fully rebuilt from scratch to be faster, more dynamic, and easier to develop with and for. This means, adding features and future patches to the platform should happen at a far more expeditious rate than you may have experienced with us prior to this latest patch. This is a direct result of upgrading the frameworks with which we have built the legacy platform, as well as the direct hiring of a staff of experienced full-time developers who are committed to accomplishing Full30’s mission.

Now that we’re here though, we still need your help to cross the finish line. If you would like to participate in the pre-release phase of the Full30 3.0 launch, you can do so by visiting the pre-release site at this link. As with anything, bugs are expected. We’re a small team of eight people working to build this, and we’re not going to be able to find every creepy crawler on our own. As a community however, we can come together and finally put the nail in every last bug’s coffin.

We’ll cover a few more key topics in the sections below.

How to Report a Bug.

Reporting a bug on the pre-release version of the 3.0 launch is an easy and relatively painless process. When you first go to the webpage, you’ll be prompted by our pre-release agreement. This is a simple I understand box that states you realize you may encounter some bugs. If you encounter bugs, there is a link in red at the top of each section of the webpage that will take you to our bug-reporting system. Once there, simply report your bug as instructed, and an e-mail will go directly to our development staff. Once they have it, they’ll squash that sucker right where it is.

If for some reason you are having an issue finding the report a bug feature at the top of the page, here is a link you can use to access the same form.

We have three upcoming patches that we are extremely eager to share with you. While the full-feature list for these patches is not completely written in stone, the names of each patch are. Here are the names for the upcoming three patches.

    Mobile App Public Launch.

On top of the 3.0 launch, we have one more exciting thing to mention here. As many of you are already aware, the Full30 mobile app has been in Beta since around August of 2020. With the launch of the 3.0 version of the webpage, we are also now fully prepared to launch our mobile application to the public. The only remaining task preventing this from happening at the time of this writing is the transference of technology from our refurbishment. We expect this to take about one week for our development team to finish. Once that key task is complete, we will be able to send the app live on both the Android and iOS app stores.

    Conclusion.

The past five months have been wild for us. We know that on the front-end, not much has appeared to change other than the addition of monthly development blogs to let you know what we have cooking on the back-end. This however, is a large moment for us, and we would like to thank you for your continued patience.

Our developers would also love to read some feedback down in the comments section of this post. They have been going full-tilt at this for the past five months, and the feedback they are most concerned about will come directly from you all. If you’ve checked out our pre-release, please let us know what you think down in the comments.
