Pregnant Woman Stops Home Invasion with AR-15

A pregnant woman and her husband became the victims of a home invasion in Florida. According to officials, the situation was rapidly deteriorating until the woman went to retrieve the family AR-15.

Until she was able to obtain the weapon, the two home invaders attacking her husband were winning the fight.

“Two unknown males broke in and made demands of them. The male victim, who is the homeowner, began to get pistol-whipped and beat up,” Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Maj. Frank Losat told reporters during an interview. “During that incident, the female homeowner retrieved a firearm, which was in the house legally, and fired one round which struck the male victim that was deceased in the ditch.”

Jeremy King, the woman’s husband, was the individual being pistol whipped by the two home invaders. He suffered a fractured eye socket, a fractured sinus cavity, a concussion, and required 20 stitches from injuries sustained during the attack.

“Them guys came in with two normal pistols and my AR stopped it,” King told Bay News 9 during an interview. “My wife evened the playing field and kept them from killing me.”

How a Pregnant Woman Stops Two Home Invaders by Herself.

You can read the full news article above, but we’re going to do a little editorial here. How is it possible that a pregnant woman can stop two home invaders? Shouldn’t they have just called 911, and waited for law enforcement to arrive?

Yes. A pregnant woman can stop two home invaders. No. They shouldn’t have had to wait for law enforcement to arrive.

The best first responder for any situation is always going to be you. When people take ownership of their own self-defense, they become a hard target. When you are a hard target, you are not the meal ticket your attacker is looking for. Firearms, and firearm ownership are paramount for individuals to take control of their own self-defense.

In a straight up fight, a pregnant woman is most likely no match for two armed attackers. Put an AR-15 and a couple of hours on the range in her pocket though, and that playing field is leveled substantially.

Notice how in the news story above, the two armed attackers fled the scene as soon as the victims put up a fight? This is something we see almost unanimously in these scenarios. Bad guys are looking for soft targets that will roll over. As soon as they encounter resistance they flee in four out of five instances.

You need a home defense weapon. If you don’t have one, here’s some that we recommend.
