Joe Biden on Guns – The 2A Fight of Our Lives

2020 may be the most contested election in recent history. At the time of this writing, the election is still in the air more than one full day after the polls opened. With the race being this close, we thought it would be a good opportunity to put a piece out fully explaining Joe Biden’s stance on the 2nd Amendment. While it’s no secret that Biden is staunchly anti-gun, we need to get everything out in the open right now.

Fortunately for our republic, politicians lay out their plans far in advance. These plans are laid out in the open for all to see. This allows us, as a 2A community, to see their ideas and start making our own plans. Defending the second amendment and the first amendment are core values that our company holds very close to the chest. As a result of our position, we think it’s important for our followers to start getting educated on the topic at hand now.

In the event of Trump losing the White House, our entire community needs to be on standby. The second amendment of the constitution was under direct attack by the Obama administration. We can expect more of the same if Obama’s Vice-President becomes POTUS 46.

Here’s what you need to know.

Joe Biden on the 2A.

Joe Biden Plans

Again, it’s no secret what Joe Biden’s stance on the 2A is. In 1993 Joe Biden helped get the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act passed. Again in 1994, Biden attacked the 2nd Amendment, and with the help of Dianne Feinstein, they passed a 10-year ban on “Assault Weapons” and “High Capacity Magazines.” Since their passing, both laws have thankfully expired. As POTUS, Joe Biden intends to use executive actions (similar to how Obama did) to once again strike out at the right to keep and bear arms.

Here’s a list of actions Biden intends to take. These come directly from the Joe Biden webpage. Regardless of our source however, I expect big tech to “Fact-Check” us here.

Biden’s Plans.

Removal of the “Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.” This law protects firearms manufacturers from civil liability if their firearm’s are used to commit a crime.

Reinstatement of the 1994 Assault Weapons and High Capacity Magazine Ban. In addition to this, the Biden administration intends to outright ban the manufacture and sale of firearms and magazines in the United States. Currently owned firearms will not be grandfathered in, they will be re-classified as NFA regulated items and require taxation and registration with the ATF. For individuals who can’t afford the taxes, there will be a mandatory buy back of weapons and magazines. At the very bottom of this same list, the Biden administration also plans to limit the number of firearms an individual can purchase per month to just one singular item.

Last, but certainly not least, is a complete gamut of draconian background check systems that the Biden administration intends to implement. At the time of this writing, the extent of those background checks have not been released to the general public, and probably will not be until they are ready to hit the floor and be signed into law. The favorite word on this topic is “universal.”

It’s also interesting to note that a majority of the “loopholes” the Biden administration intends to close in current background checking systems don’t actually exist. If you click through the links on Biden’s own webpage, you’ll notice that some of the links don’t point to any working websites.

The 2A Fight of our Lives May be Coming.

Joe Biden on Guns

The outcome of the 2020 Election has not yet been set in stone. Trump himself has been no saint for the gun community, that’s no secret. Under Trump we have seen a new bump-stock ban, and an emboldened ATF that is arbitrarily acting on its own against the order of the DoJ. Also, many of Trump supporters thought he would go on the offense for the 2A. That has not happened. That said, when compared to Biden, Donald Trump might as well be Ted Nugent.

If Donald Trump loses this election, we need to be prepared. As a gun community, it will be more important than ever for us to get involved. Groups like the NRA, Gun Owner’s of America, and The Second Amendment Foundation will be our front-line against these authoritarian actions. If you aren’t already a part of one of these groups, we highly recommend you consider checking them out now, and consider supporting them. Like it or not, diplomacy and counter-politics are our first best option to keeping our rights protected.

Sincerely, for the sake of our nation, I hope that our first option works should the election fail to go in Donald Trump’s favor.
